Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. 
 
The University develops a series of websites to meet the needs of our academic colleagues. Website examples include:
  • https://countryhouseservants.mmu.ac.uk/
  • https://watchmedoit.mmu.ac.uk/
The websites are built on a Wordpress content management system with a series of templates which can be customised.
 
We're looking for up to 3 students to support our academic colleagues to build their websites, working closely with the digital team to ensure they are of great quality, meet the site owners needs and comply with our relevant standards.
 
You'll work directly with the site owner, sourcing content, building pages and making amends as required. You may be asked to resize images and format content to ensure it delivers the best possible user experience.
 
Details:
Dates: 2 February - July 2026
Hours of Work: Flexible (Est 12 per week)
Details of training : A full training programme will be provided.
 

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements - 
  • Confident using a computer and web software - This is not a development role and no coding is required. The role holder will need to log into the content management system, enter content, upload images and ensure the pages are well laid out to promote a great user experience.
  • Able to undertake basic image manipulation, such as cropping and resizing.
Desirable skills / attributes:
  • Experience of content management systems (in particular Wordpress) - Full training will be provided, but prior experience will be beneficial.
  • Excellent grammar and attention to detail.
  • Great interpersonal skills.
