Manchester Poetry Library is recruiting a pool of
Poetry Library Ambassadors for the Poetry Library in the Grosvenor East
Building. This role will be offered on a flexible basis, depending on event
schedules and staffing needs. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to
gain hands-on experience in a public facing-role while supporting the Poetry
Library.
Duties may include -
- Ensuring
that the Poetry Library is clean and tidy
- Welcoming
and greeting members of the public in a polite and friendly manner
- Collecting
tickets for admission into the Poetry Library
- Answering
questions regarding membership, event and interval times and building
navigation
- Assisting
patrons with access requirements as needed
- Assisting
with live streaming and communicating information to online audience
- Ensuring
the Poetry Library is clear of any rubbish after events and retrieving and
logging any lost property
- Using
the Poetry Library’s social media channels
- General
event support
- Giving
tours of the space
Please Note: Poetry Library Ambassadors will be
briefed by staff on duties and event running times. They will be trained in
emergency protocol and guiding members of the audience to the exits in the
event of an evacuation.
Successful applicants will be added to our pool of Poetry Library Event Ambassadors and will be prioritised for paid roles, working events as and when they come up and according to your own availability and areas of interest. A selection of dates will be circulated after appointments are made.
