Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

We are looking for a student photographer for Hulme Community Garden Photography Workshop, an event exploring analogue photographic practice and plant materials at Hulme Community Garden Centre.

The event forms part of a project investigating how urban flora interacts with photographic practice to communicate knowledge at the boundary between nature and the city. Working with Hulme Community Garden Centre, the project explores people’s relationships with local plants, and how photographic practice and workshop-based engagement can deepen understanding, creativity and wellbeing.

The role will involve capturing natural, respectful images of participants taking part in a creative workshop exploring analogue photographic practice and plant materials, with a small group engaging with plants, photographic processes, discussion, and hands-on creative activity.

Photography should be participant-centred and sensitive, documenting the workshop atmosphere, creative process, plant materials, participant engagement and interactions between participants and the workshop lead.

Final deliverables will include 10–15 edited event images, supplied as high-quality JPEGs suitable for web and print via OneDrive.
