The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
This internship will be based in the Faculty of Engineering, primarily supporting the workshop manufacturing Team
In this role, you would gain an understanding of the operation of the various Manufacturing workshop spaces ranging from autolab, advanced materials, wood and metal workshops and computer aided manufacture.
Projects you may be involved with, and general duties include:
o Assisting in the running of summer workshops
o Carrying out equipment maintenance
o Organising stores and reordering of materials
o Investigating potential booking systems for workshop sessions
o Reviewing the Health and Safety documentation and Moodle content
o Applying knowledge and skills to support the work of students and academics within a workshop/studio space
o To support learning, teaching, research, and enterprise activities, as part of the technical team
o To respond to a variety of requests for information and assistance from colleagues and service users
o To use initiative and judgement to develop techniques to facilitate the modernisation of systems used within the Engineering workshop areas
o To attend team meetings and communication sessions and to make suggestions. To participate actively as a member of the Manufacturing team, providing mutual support to colleagues to achieve successful completion of projects
