Job Description
In this role you will design and develop a simple, user-friendly research project website. In addition, you will support the development of a policy briefing and assist with the coordination of an event taking place on campus in June 2025. This role is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in web development and contribute to meaningful projects.
You will be working alongside Dr Benedicte Brahic. Benedicte is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology and co-leads the MMU-based Migration and Global Interdisciplinary Global Studies (MIGS) research network. Her research interests (and the research projects you will be involved in) focus on bordering and gender in migration and education contexts.
Duties include:
- collaborate with the academic lead to understand website requirements and objectives.
- research website development for academic projects to help identify best solution.
- build (simple) website/webpages using WordPress, Wix or equivalent.
- create and copyedit web content based on project outputs/documents
- synthesize project outputs/documents to assist in developing policy briefing (training provided)
- support the preparation and delivery of a academic event on campus
- attending regular meetings.

Flexible times to be agreed with the successful applicant (campus-based and online).
Your presence on campus is required on Thursday 26 June, 9:00am - 6:00pm.
Benedicte will support the successful applicant and meet them regularly/weekly for discussion, guidance and updates.

Please Note - As part of the 2025 Student Internship offering, priority will be given to Level 5 & 6 students who have specified in the Careers Registration survey (this is completed during enrolment and cannot be changed at this time) that they have had no work experience in the last 12 months and would like some on campus work or a short work placement. However, applications are welcomed from all students meeting the criteria below.
Students are only eligible to undertake one internship under the 2025 Student Internship offering.
