Student Internship 2025 - Student Transition Assistant

 Join us in shaping the future of student experiences at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities. As the Student Transition assistant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our students arrive at university excited, prepared, and ready to thrive in higher education. Your mission is to develop an enrichment programme that is accessible, inclusive, and relevant, enhancing the overall student journey for new students joining Arts and Humanities programme.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Innovative Programme Design: Collaborate with the Director and Deputy Director of Education to design and implement enrichment activities that captivate and engage students from day one focusing on RISE, wellbeing and community development/
  • Event Design and Promotion: Support the creation and promotion of dynamic activities and events that inspire and motivate students utilising existing resources from current Man Met platforms.
  • Project and Event Management: Assist with project and event management planning for Semester 1.

Please Note: Students are only eligible to undertake one internship under the 2025 Student Internship offering. 

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements - 
 
  • A commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, understanding the diverse needs and backgrounds of students.
  • Ability to effectively use university platforms, social media, and digital tools to promote activities and communicate with students.
  • Prior involvement in student-led initiatives, ambassador roles, or peer mentoring.
  • Student of Arts & Humanities faculty desired.
 
 
Please Note - As part of the 2025 Student Internship offering, priority will be given to Level 5 & 6 students who have specified in the Careers Registration survey (this is completed during enrolment and cannot be changed at this time) that they have had no work experience in the last 12 months and would like some on campus work or a short work placementHowever, applications are welcomed from all students meeting the criteria below.
