Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

The Man Met Carbon Literacy Team is seeking an enthusiastic videographer/video editor to join the CL Spark Project Team.

The Spark Project is a student-led initiative aiming to create a collection of informative and inspirational video content that can be used to generate excitement around Manchester Met’s Carbon Literacy Programme. By strengthening engagement with Carbon Literacy training, the Spark Team plays a key role in building climate awareness within the University and driving the low-carbon culture we need in order to address climate change, as well as contributing to the achievement of Man Met’s strategic commitment to embed Carbon Literacy training in all taught programmes by 2026. The current Spark Team have developed the concepts and frameworks for a series of video interviews with students on campus. We now seek to strengthen the team by hiring a student with the video production skills to realise this vision. This is an opportunity to develop your portfolio of work whilst making a real impact on the most pressing issue of our time.

Dates (flexible):

Working hours are flexible and to be agreed with the Project Manager and other members of the Spark Team.

Mid-April – May: 4-8 hours per week (flexible)

Early May – Early Jun: up to 16 hours per week (flexible)

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met students within the who have:

Knowledge of/experience with:

Camera operation
Editing software
Sound recording using wireless lapel mics
Production of video content for promotional and/or social media purposes

Great candidates will also possess, or be keen to develop the following professional skills:

Self-starters/ability to take the initiative
