Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

Calling all (Postgraduate) content creators! Want to help  provide future postgraduate students with an insight into what life is like at Manchester Met, and what you love most about your experience?

We’re looking for postgraduate students from the Faculty of Science and Engineering to create a series of short, informational videos that help persuade postgraduate offer holders to accept their offer to study at the university. You’ll be sharing your insights on making the most of your studies and preparing for your next steps. You’ll focus on the employability support you’ve received as well as any experiences and opportunities you’ve had that will benefit your future career – all with the aim of convincing future students to choose Manchester Met for their masters.

It’s essential you’re passionate about creating video content. Youll be given lots of guidance along the way but a creative flair and confidence with using your phone to create Reels or TikTok style videos is a must.

The video will be used to promote the postgraduate courses available in Manchester Met’s Faculty of Science and Engineering, to both UK and international markets.

Date(s): TBC around your studies. The content submission deadline is Friday 16 May 2025.
Hours of Work: 8
Details of briefing/training: We will organise a half hour briefing following the hiring process.

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met postgraduate students who meet the following requirements:

Essential:

  •  Study within the Faculty Science and Engineering
  • Are enrolled on a postgraduate taught course
  • Strong verbal communication skills with an outgoing and enthusiastic attitude
  •  Comfortable with capturing and editing video content and appearing on camera
  • Responsible attitude and the ability to show initiative
  • Able to contribute creative ideas and work independently
  •  A positive perspective on higher education, educational experiences more broadly, and the University
  • Able to work flexibly
  • Willing to complete a briefing before commencing work

Desirable:

  • Also studied your undergraduate degree at Manchester Met.
  • Are on, or have been on, an industry placement
