Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role. 


We are seeking two final-year Acting students to support the production of our Graduation Master of Ceremonies (MC) Video 2025. This pre-recorded video will be played at the beginning of each ceremony to welcome attendees, set expectations, and provide essential information about the proceedings. 

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver a clear, engaging, and professional on-screen presentation.
  • Communicate key messages about the ceremony, including the order of events, audience etiquette, and safety information.
  • Work collaboratively with the production team to ensure a polished and high-quality final video.
  • Be available for script read-throughs, rehearsals, and the filming session as required. 

Project details:

  • The video will be professionally recorded at the Bridgewater Hall - our Graduation venue.
  • A script will be provided in advance, with opportunities for rehearsal.
  • Filming will take place on a scheduled date, requiring availability on the day.
  • This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain professional on-camera experience and contribute to a key university event.
 
Dates: 06 May 2025
Hours of Work: 9:00am - 1:00pm
Details of briefing: The successful applicants will be invited to a briefing session to discuss all requirements on campus, including a reading of the script. The briefing session will be paid by the hour. 

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements - 
  
  • Final-year Acting students or Drama and Contemporary Performance students with strong on-camera presence and clear diction.
  • Bring enthusiasm and creativity to the project.
  • Confident delivery style suited to a formal event.
  • Ability to take direction and adapt performance as needed.
  • Punctual and professional approach to filming and rehearsals.
  • Must be able to provide link to show reel of work within the last 12 months.
