Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
 

An exclusive opportunity awaits students from the BA Filmmaking and BA Future Media programs. We're seeking skilled Camera Operators to capture Henrik Ibsen's 'Hedda Gabbler', as performed by the Manchester School of Theatre. As a Camera Operator, your role will involve operating cameras as part of a talented crew. Additionally, you'll be responsible for some setup and breakdown tasks. Previous experience in filming is preferred, but training will still be provided to enhance your skills for this experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate cameras to capture key moments of the ‘Hedda Gabler’ Theatre Production.
  • Collaborate with the wider crew to ensure seamless filming.
  • Contribute your expertise to setup and breakdown tasks.

Person Specification

This position is exclusively available to individuals currently enrolled at Manchester Metropolitan University, pursuing or having pursued a degree in BA Filmmaking or BA Future Media Production.

Essential:

  • Enthusiasm for theatre and film production.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Availability on the event date: Thursday 1 May 2025
  • Able to work from 1:00pm - 4:30pm (3.5 hours)

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in camera operation, especially in live event settings.
  •  Demonstrated skills from your studies in BA Filmmaking or BA Future Media.
