Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

Are you a student who would be comfortable on camera and wants to share your university experience with an international audience? This is an exciting opportunity to feature in a video with the International Marketing team and Study UK. Study UK is a nation-wide campaign delivered by the British Council that is aimed to showcase why the UK is a unique and perfect choice for any international student.

We are looking for students to take part in filming on the university campus with the support and guidance of the International Marketing team and Study UK. The film will aim to promote the UK as study destination and will feature Manchester Met as one of the campaign’s key filming locations.

The film is aimed at prospective international students. We are looking for a number of non-speaking roles including:

  •  5 Art students. This role includes being filmed while working on a piece of artwork, e.g. painting, sketching, mixing paints, and being fully immersed in your creative work.
  • A total of 9-10 students for general shots around campus and the city centre (e.g. socialising, chatting, walking).

The video will be a fun and exciting way to inspire international students to come to live and study in the UK.

The aim of the videos is to:

  •  Raise awareness of the UK and Manchester Met to an international audience at all study levels through Study UK’s and Manchester Met’s channels.
  •  Demonstrate the UK and Manchester Met can offer a valuable international student experience.
  •  Inspire international students to study here.
  •  Capture your experience studying at Manchester Met.

In addition to the video being shown on Study UK’s channels, it might also be used on the University website, social media and digital channels.

Times: You will be required to attend a specific slot on our filming day, 28 May 2025. The filming day will be for up to 7 hours plus an hour’s unpaid lunch break, but your final working hours will be confirmed if you are successful (dates and working hours may be subject to change).

There may also be a 30-minute online briefing meeting for the successful candidate to explain the requirements of the video in detail ahead of the filming (further details TBC).

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met students who meet the following requirements:

  •  Be an Art student, or be comfortable working on a project (crafting, designing, sketching etc.) and being filmed while doing so, or a student of any course if you’re interested in the generic role.
  • Be a friendly, engaging and positive representative of your course, department and Manchester Met.
  • Feel confident in front of a camera.
  • Good organisational and presentation skills.
  • Presentable and professional.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
