The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
The Student Management Office is looking for a number of students to work as Graduation Assistants at the Award Ceremonies. The ceremonies will take place at The Midland Hotel, Manchester, between 14 July - 25 July 2024 (Monday-Friday). Mandatory training will take place on Tuesday 1 July 2025 at The Bridgewater Hall.
Successful candidates will be working as Graduation Assistants based at The Midland Hotel. Duties will include:
- Greeting students and their families and directing them to registration, robing and photography.
- Helping to manage queues.
- Provide cover for the guest ticket collection and certificate collection.
- Provide cover for the registration & information desks.
- Guidance to off-site screening facilities or gowning facilities.
- Other duties as required.
Selected students will gain confidence in working events, ensuring the smooth functioning of their areas, and will gain experience in customer service and handling enquiries.
Students must commit to 1 full week of Graduation shifts, totalling a possible 45 hours for the week.
Working hours are as follows (please note the finish times are approximate as this may vary by ceremony size and running time): 7:45 - 5:30pm*.
*Approximate latest finish time. May be earlier depending on role that day. Breaks will be around the ceremony start times and food and refreshments will be provided.
Other Requirements: This is a formal role; a strict dress code (black trousers/skirt & black shoes. T-shirt will be provided) are required for this role.
