The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
In this role, you will assist with conducting a systematic search of the scientific literature on genetic studies in zoo populations. This involves screening thousands of abstracts of scientific articles to find relevant studies, and within those studies, searching the articles to extract specific data, which you will then record in a spreadsheet.
This role is flexible and you are welcome to work remotely and/ or on campus. The hours are also flexible, but you will be expected to attend regular meetings, either online through Teams or on campus, which will take place in standard working hours.
Your role will involve:
- Systematic searching of the scientific literature and extraction of relevant information from papers
- Recording data in a spreadsheet
- Regularly reporting project progress to project supervisor, and working together to streamline and develop methodologies
Dates: - 16 June - 11 July
Hours of Work: 20 hours per week - hours flexible
Details of training: On your first day, you will report to Dr. Sarah Griffiths in the Dalton Building or online (Microsoft Teams) for training.
