The Faculty of Business & Law are seeking to recruit International Engagement Ambassadors to support new PG International students by providing opportunities and guidance. Applicants are invited from current PG international Manchester Met students from the Faculty of Business and Law (so they must be enrolled as a student at the time of application and also for term 1: September-December 2025). Each International Ambassador will work with a number of dedicated departments and with the Head of International.
This is an excellent opportunity for students to build their CVs further, use their personal experience, and positively impact their peers. You will be expected to lead discussions, share ideas around your experiences, and signpost students to the support provided by the University. You will also be part of the international meetings to provide feedback to Faculty.
Duties may include:
- Supporting welcome events;
- Providing support for students coming to our campus for study tours;
- Providing welfare checks to international students;
- Supporting off campus visits;
- Providing information and guidance at events, on promotional stands and through peer-to-peer activities, e.g. international week and induction;
- Collaborating with staff from across the University and specifically, the international leads, Head of International and Faculty Head of PG and the Student Experience Officers;
- Attending training and debriefs where you will receive support, resources, and feedback;
- Developing promotional materials (such as articles, blogs, videos or media articles) by collecting testimonials and feedback from students;
- Work on additional activities and events if & when required, for example 'week6';
- Attending Virtual Open Days and Visit Days to speak to prospective students about your experiences.
- Research and data collection for a variety of projects.
Successful applicants will be invited to attend an interview (taking place mid January 2025).
Dates of Work: from Mid September to mid December
Hours: to be discussed and agreed around timetable but will typically be 10 hours per week, but can be up to 16 hours where needed.
Training: will take place on during the first couple of weeks work.
