Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

The PrintCity team are currently seeking to recruit proactive, organised, and enthusiastic students to become Fusion 360 and 3D Printing Ambassador for the 2025/2026 academic year.

Fusion 360 and 3D Printing Ambassadors support the team to deliver a wide range of activities with schools, colleges, and local authorities in Greater Manchester and across the North West region designed to raise young peoples’ aspirations, improve awareness of educational pathways to university, and safeguard access to higher education for all.

The Fusion 360 and 3D Printing Ambassadors will also have the opportunity to attend outreach events and work on commercial projects alongside members of the PrintCity team.

The team works across three main activities, schools outreach, external education events and on commercial projects. Our work is predominantly carried out in PrintCity, Turing House. However, there are also external events that we attend throughout the region.

This role would be ideally suited to students who have a good understanding of Autodesk’s Fusion 360 software and 3D printing. However, the role will also facilitate the development of a wide-range of transferable skills attractive to employers across a broad range of career sectors.

Fusion 360 and 3D Printing Ambassador will have the opportunity to work in a variety of paid roles on events and projects throughout the year, including:
- 3D Printing Taster Days (as part of the Widening Participation scheme).
- External education events.
- Summer schools.
- Working with businesses and PrintCity staff on commercial projects.
- Working with the Technical team and on research projects.

The Fusion 360 and 3D Printing Ambassador role is varied, and duties often include the following:
- Supporting PrintCity staff to deliver Fusion 360 training sessions.
- Engaging in discussion and answering queries about Fusion 360 and 3D printing.
- Sharing your own educational experiences and promoting the benefits of higher education.
- Supporting school pupils to engage with interactive 3D printing workshop activities.
- Supporting the PrintCity team to deliver commercial projects.
- Supporting the PrintCity team with organisational and administrative tasks.

Working Hours
The Fusion 360 and 3D Printing Ambassador role is casual and flexible. As candidates can apply for jobs on an ad-hoc basis throughout the 2025/2026 academic year, weekly working hours may vary between individuals. Work opportunities are more frequent during school term times.

Benefits of the Role
* Practical work experience working with schools, colleges, and businesses.
* Develop transferable skills such as time management, workshop delivery, facilitation, administrative support, and teamwork.
* Network with professional practitioners and colleagues working in educational fields across Greater Manchester and the North West region, including schools, colleges, and other higher education institutions (HEI’s).
* Have a positive impact upon the lives and aspirations of young people in Greater Manchester and across the North West of England.

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements:

* You must be a current student on the Digital Design and Manufacturing MSc at Manchester Metropolitan University during the 2025/2026 academic year or be proficient in Autodesk Fusion 360 software.
