The Man Met Carbon Literacy Team is seeking an enthusiastic
videographer/video editor to join the CL Spark Project Team.
The Spark Project is a student-led initiative aiming
to create a collection of informative and inspirational video content that can
be used to generate excitement around Manchester Met’s Carbon Literacy Programme.
By strengthening engagement with Carbon Literacy training, the Spark Team plays
a key role in building climate awareness within the University and driving the
low-carbon culture we need in order to address climate change, as well as
contributing to the achievement of Man Met’s strategic commitment to embed
Carbon Literacy training in all taught programmes by 2026. The full Project

The current Spark Team have developed the concepts and
frameworks for a series of video interviews with students on campus. We now
seek to strengthen the team by hiring a student with the video production
skills to realise this vision. This is an opportunity to develop your portfolio
of work whilst making a real impact on the most pressing issue of our time.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of/experience with:
- · Camera operation
- · Editing software
- · Sound recording using wireless lapel mics
- · Production of video content for promotional
and/or social media purposes
Great candidates will also possess, or be keen to develop

The CL Spark Project is led by the students on the Spark
Team, who are encouraged to make the project their own, harnessing their
creativity and innovation. However, the team receives guidance and supervision
through regular meetings with the staff Project Manager, who helps set targets
and offers support and mentorship throughout the process.
Employment with the CL Spark Team is a paid opportunity, but
successful applicants can also receive 300 Rise points (subject to level of
engagement) that can count towards their degree.
Dates: 03 November 2025 - 30 January 2026
Hours: Up to 16 hours per week. Working days/hours are flexible and will be negotiated the your line manager once hired. The successful applicant may work up to 16 hours per week, but 16 hours per week is not guaranteed.
