The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
The Instagram live event will be hosted by staff from the International Office. You will be answering a set of questions about your student experience at Manchester Met – these questions will be shared with you in advance so you can prepare. These will relate to different aspects of student life such as social activities, your experience of Manchester, the campus as well as your academic and extracurricular experience. The event will fall on and celebrate International Student Day 2025. We want prospective students to know what it's like being an international student in Manchester and so we will touch on topics like: the transition to like in the UK, life in Manchester, being a student at Manchester Met, and more. Details of this event will be shared to both prospective students, as well as current students already on social media.
As part of the video recordings, you will be expected to introduce yourself, give top tips to new incoming students, share positive experiences of your time so far at Manchester Met, discuss your favourite things so far about being a student as well as the city, and more.
A member of the International Office will be guiding you through the questions. There might also be some additional questions sent through from our Instagram followers on the day so quick thinking on your feet may be required! We will also be asking you to fill in our standard student testimonial form to understand your background and your student experience better.
In addition to the live event, we will also pre-record some Q&A with you to post on our social media a couple of days before the live event. You will receive all the guidance and training necessary as part of the briefing.
If you are made successful for this role, we will need a hi-resolution photo of you for Instagram stories as well as the testimonial form and your talking points:
- We will need a photo of you that is a head and shoulder shot with a clear background to use as your ‘profile’ photo on our introductory slide (this does not to have to be a passport photo but make sure it’s good quality and in a professional setting).
- Filled in Testimonial Form (this will help us understand your student experience better and guide the questions during the live event).
- A list of your proposed talking points in relation to the set questions so that we will have an idea of what you will be sharing during the live event.
