Student Editor - Philosophy Magazine

We are looking for three motivated and creative Philosophy or Ethics, Religion and Philosophy (ERP) students to join the editorial team for the next two editions of the student-led Philosophy Magazine.

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience in publishing, journalism, and academic outreach while contributing to a vibrant student publication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with fellow editors to plan and shape magazine content.
• Reach out to potential contributors, including current students, alumni, and staff.
• Conduct interviews with former students and write up engaging features.
• Edit and proofread submitted articles for clarity, tone, and accuracy.
• Assist with the visual design and layout of the magazine.
• Create original content, including opinion pieces, reviews, and event coverage.
• Liaise with the department and student community to promote the magazine.

Essential Criteria

• Currently enrolled as a Philosophy or ERP student at MMU
• Strong written communication and editing skills
• Interest in philosophy, ethics, or related disciplines
• Ability to work collaboratively with others
• Good time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Creative mindset and attention to detail
• Enthusiasm for student engagement and outreach

Desirable Criteria

• Experience with content creation or student media
• Familiarity with design tools (e.g., Canva, InDesign)
• Interviewing or journalism experience
• Previous involvement in student publications or similar projects
