Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

We are looking for a talented student performer or student performance group to provide live entertainment during our Ideas Festival Grand Final. Ideas Festival is an ideas competition for student entrepreneurs. This could include:

Music: Acoustic sets (e.g., guitar), singing, or instrumental performances.
Dance: Any style of dance (e.g., contemporary, classical, street, or other creative forms)
Theatre/Performance: Short theatrical acts, spoken word, or other creative performances.

Your performance should be dynamic, engaging, and suitable for a diverse audience. We welcome creativity and cultural expression.

Date: Thursday 11 December 2025

Hours of work: 3 hours (flexible depending on act, ranging anywhere from 10-30 minutes including 2.5 hours for rehearsal or preparation)

Location: No.1 Circle Square, Manchester

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements -

Experience performing in front of live audiences.
Ability to adapt performance to suit a professional, celebratory environment.
Deliver a performance aligned with the event’s celebratory theme.
Provide any necessary equipment (or inform us in advance if support is needed).
Bring energy and enthusiasm to engage the audience.
Coordinate with the event team for setup and timing.
Reliable and punctual.
