Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

The Outreach team is seeking to recruit organised, professional and enthusiastic students to work as student ambassadors during this upcoming in-person outreach event Wednesday 21 January 09:00-15:00

Successful candidates will be required to assist with the registration of the visiting schools on arrival, assist those arriving late by guiding them to the location of the event sessions, provide visitors with general advice, and support the tutors running the breakout sessions.

You will need to provide helpful information to pupils studying languages in secondary education, on topics such as your  Languages Course, the faculty of Arts & Humanities, Manchester Met University, and your personal experiences as a student in Manchester.

Hours of Work: 09:00am-03:00pm

Details of briefing: Briefing for the event will take place either online or the morning of the event.
 

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Language Students who meet the following requirements: 

  • Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with pupils and teacher of foreign languages 
  • Current student on a degree programme within the BALLT programme at Manchester Metropolitan. 
  • Ability to be a positive role model for your course area, and the language programme at Manchester Metropolitan 
  • Ability to cooperate with the language outreach coordinator and session delivery team. 
  • A positive perspective on studying language within higher education and the university.
