Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
 
 The Faculty Outreach team are seeking to recruit 4x Undergraduate students currently studying at either SODA, Manchester School of Art/Design, Manchester School of Architecture and Manchester Fashion Institute to support with a visiting group of students attending an Introduction to UAL Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design.

The Art & Design foundation is one of the strongest and most distinctive foundation programmes in the country. Its remit is to enable students to develop the necessary skills and portfolio to apply to a range of art and design degree courses. Here’s a great opportunity to look around the bustling and highly creative studios, attend a presentation providing lots of useful information about the course, and chat with current students and staff. 

Responsibilities:

  • You will be expected to provide a positive and informative perspective on all aspects of studying here at Manchester Met and being a part of the Manchester Met University community.
  • You will also provide an insight into your studies as part of a short Q&A panel, answering questions raised by the visiting students.
  • Share your experience of studying a creative subject at university
Date: Thursday 22 January 2026
Hours of Work: 11:00am - 1:00pm
Details of briefing/training: Briefing to take place either online or in person before the event TBC
 

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements - 

To be a successful, you will need to be enthusiastic, reliable and enjoy working as part of a team. You must explain in your application form how you meet the following requirements of this role:
 
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with staff and visitors.
- Ability to undertake any role with a positive and professional manner.
- Evidence of a responsible attitude and the ability to show initiative.
- Able to contribute and work effectively in a team.
- A positive attitude to university life.
- Evidence of good time keeping and attendance record.
- Experience in a customer-facing role.
 
Essential

  • Currently studying at either SODA, Manchester School of Art/Design, Manchester School of Architecture and Manchester Fashion Institute
  • Have previously studied on the UAL Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design course at Manchester Met
  • General knowledge of Information and Guidance (IAG) and able to share own experiences.
  • Confident when working with groups.
