Library and Cultural Services is seeking to recruit a student to take part in a short research project evaluating recent improvements to the library building. Your insights will help us understand how students use our spaces and services, ensuring that future developments align closely with your needs.
This project has been reviewed by the MMU Faculty of Business and Law Research Ethics and Governance Committee, EthOS84807. Participation involves two short activities lasting up to 2 hours:
Photography Activity (approx. 1 hour)
Use your smartphone to take photographs around the library in response to guided prompts such as:
Where is your favourite place in the library?
Where do you feel most comfortable or uncomfortable?
What motivates or frustrates you during your visits?
Discussion (approx. 1 hour)
Take part in a relaxed audio-recorded conversation with a researcher about your photo choices.
Share your experiences and opinions about how you use the library.
Dates: A day in the week commencing 16 February 2026 (to be arranged) to meet a member of library staff
