Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
  

aAh! - Manchester Metropolitan University's student magazine is on the lookout for a talented, driven, and creative individual to take the reins of our social media platforms and steer them towards success.


As a member of our growing Social Media team, your primary responsibility will be to lead, improve, and oversee high-quality social media output, ensuring we connect with a wide audience. Combining marketing and social media management skills, you will architect and enhance the magazine's social media presence.


Your duties will include promoting opportunities to potential contributors, sharing online and print articles ensuring they reach a wide readership target audience, interacting with readers, and creating interactive and engaging content to grow the aAh! platform. 

 

You will work closely with volunteer social media content creators and editorial team members to create innovative content and campaigns.


In addition to this, you will be leading recruitment and promotional campaigns, specifically targeting the student community at Manchester Met and beyond.


We are looking for a talented individual who can work collaboratively, enthusiastically, and passionately with members of the aAh! student editorial team to ensure the ongoing success of our online and print publication.

 
Dates: February 2026 - May 2026
Hours of Work: Flexible

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements:
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in order to deliver objectives. 
  • Ability to use initiative, creativity and judgement.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload. 
  • Good working knowledge of a variety of social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Good working knowledge of social media scheduling platforms
  • Previous social media marketing experience
