Role Overview
As a Technical Ambassador, you will be the face of SODA's world-class studio facilities, delivering engaging and informative short demonstrations to prospective students and guests during Open Days, Taster Days and Visit Days. Working closely with the Technical team, you will be trained to deliver confident, polished 5–10 minute demos that bring our disciplines to life, showcasing not only what our facilities can do, but what you have achieved as a student within them.
This role is an opportunity to demonstrate the technical skills and creative knowledge you have developed throughout your studies, while inspiring the next generation of digital artists and storytellers.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver short, structured demonstrations (5–10 minutes) across one or more of SODA's specialist studio areas to prospective students and visitors
- Represent your discipline with confidence, enthusiasm and technical accuracy
- Work with the technical team to develop and rehearse your demo, ensuring it is accessible, engaging and appropriately pitched to a prospective student audience
- Respond to questions from visitors about your discipline, your student experience and life at SODA
- Assist in the setup and preparation of studio spaces ahead of Open and Visit Days
- Act as a positive and professional ambassador for the School of Digital Arts and the wider University
Studio Areas
Ambassadors will be trained to deliver demonstrations in one or more of the following disciplines:
- Audio & Music
- Filmmaking
- Virtual Production
- Motion Capture (MoCap)
- Games Art/Design
- Stop Motion Animation
- Photography UX

Training & Support
You will receive full training from SODA's technical team ahead of any Open or Visit Day. This training will help you shape and refine your demonstration, build your presenting confidence, and ensure you can speak knowledgeably about both the technology and the creative possibilities within your area. Training sessions will be scheduled in advance of each event.
