Digital Marketing Intern


Job Description

The Digital Marketing Intern will support FemWear in marketing and promotion of the brand, with a particular focus on brand tune, social media, content creation, copywriting, and digital design.

 

FemWear is a purpose-led fashion brand based in Manchester, creating the world's first pelvic pain-friendly clothing. This role offers hands-on experience within a growing start-up, supporting campaign development, brand storytelling, and digital growth across multiple platforms.

 

The intern will work closely with the Founder to increase brand awareness, engagement, and community growth, while contributing creative ideas and supporting the delivery of upcoming campaigns and product launches.

What You Will Gain

Key Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day social media activity across platforms (e.g. Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn).
  • Create engaging posts, captions, reels, and short-form content aligned with the brand voice.
  • Assist in planning and maintaining a clear content calendar and posting schedule.
  • Support campaign planning for upcoming launches and marketing initiatives.
  • Design marketing materials using Canva (e.g. social graphics, email visuals, flyers, digital assets).
  • Assist with copywriting for website updates, email newsletters, and product descriptions.
  • Help analyse basic social media insights and suggest improvements for engagement and reach.
  • Research relevant trends, hashtags, and content ideas within fashion, women's health, and purpose-led brands.
  • Support the Founder with general marketing administration and coordination tasks.
  • Contribute ideas to strengthen community engagement and brand storytelling.

Dates: April TBC (approx 6 weeks duration).
Hours: 12.5 hours per week
Location: Manchester
 
This role will be for up to 75 hours work.
 
The Company

FemWear is a purpose-driven fashion brand and community, ethically made in Manchester, designing clothing that supports women through bloating, hormonal and cyclical changes, and chronic gynaecological conditions—empowering them to feel comfortable, confident, and seen, while also providing free support and workplace workshops to end stigma around menstrual conditions and bloating.

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met students who are: 
  • Proactive, ability to think outside of the box and welcoming approach
  • Studying Marketing, Digital Marketing, Communications, Fashion Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and their algorithms.
  • Confident using social media platforms and understanding how content performs across formats.
  • Experience using Canva and Adobe to create engaging digital assets.
  • Strong copywriting skills with the ability to adapt tone of voice.
  • Creative thinker with awareness of trends in fashion, wellness, and digital marketing.
  • Aware of current marketing landscape, latest social trends and enjoys researching
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the Founder.
  • Interest in purpose-led brands, women's health, or social impact businesses.
  • Basic understanding of analytics and engagement metrics.
