Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students; to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

The SODA MA team seeks to appoint a Content Creator to assist in the development of the program’s website and social media presence. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality video edits that showcase the calibre of our student work, seamlessly integrated with spoken testimonials.

This role is open exclusively to current SODA MA Students.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:
  • Video Editing: Compiling and editing "showreel-style" content that combines existing student film footage with new testimonial material.
  • Production: Conducting basic interview filming with students to capture authentic testimonials.
  • Content Strategy: Creating engaging digital video content tailored for dissemination across the program's website and social media platforms.
  •  Quality Control: Ensuring all output reflects the professional standards of the MA Filmmaking department.

Key Information
Dates: Flexible around studies (to be completed over a 10-week period)
Hours of Work: 1 x 7-hour day per week x 10 weeks (total 70 hours)

Person Specification

Person Specification:
This role is only open to current SODA MA students who meet the following requirements:
  • Current Student: Must be enrolled in a SODA MA programme.
  • Technical Editing Skills: Proficiency in professional editing software (DaVinci Resolve preferable but Premiere/FCPX also options) with a portfolio or examples of work demonstrating a keen eye for pacing and narrative.
  • Filming Experience: Practical experience in basic interview setups, including framing, lighting, and capturing clear audio.
  • Communication: Ability to engage with fellow students to support compelling testimonial content.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage assets and meet delivery deadlines over the 10-week duration.
