Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
 
Event to be covered:
IDENTIKIT: Engaging fan communities in the design process of the football shirt using a participatory framework
 
We are looking for a student videographer to film and edit a short (1-2) minute video capturing a co-productive public engagement event. This role involves filming the event in a flexible, respectful way, capturing atmosphere, activities, and short participant voice clips, and producing a simple well-edited final video suitable for web and reporting use. Working closely with the event lead and prioritising participant comfort is essential. 
 
Date: Tuesday 2 June 2026
Location: FC United of Manchester, Broadhurst Park, 310 Lightbowne Rd, Moston, Manchester, M40 0FJ 
Event Time: 17:00 - 20:00 (3 hours - filming to begin when the event starts at 17:30)
Editing time: 5 hours
Please bear in mind that the successful applicant will need to review the full length of the video recorded and have time to edit.
 

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students.
 
The successful applicant will be expected to provide their own equipment.
 
Essential
  • Interest in filming and editing short videos
  • Some experience filming events, people or group activities (this may be through university work, volunteering or personal projects)
  • Comfortable capturing natural footage of people and activities
Desirable
  • Experience filming talks, workshops or live events
  • Confidence speaking to people to record short vox-pop style interviews, or willingness to take gentle direction from the event lead where this is appropriate
