The Central Outreach team are seeking to recruit students to facilitate walking groups of school and college students around the Manchester School of Art, Design, SODA, Manchester School of Architecture and Manchester Fashion Institute Degree Shows.
The degree shows are a fantastic way to show what our creative students have been working hard on during their degree with us at MMU. Showcasing this work to prospective students and students generally considering HE is a fantastic opportunity for raising aspirations and general Outreach and Recruitment.
You will be expected to provide a positive and informative perspective on all aspects of studying here at Manchester Met and being a part of the Manchester Met University community.
Responsibilities:
Become familiar with the layout of the degree shows across various buildings to ensure you can guide students in a safe manner.
Ensure work displayed in the degree shows is safe.
Answer questions about university as you walk the students around. You can direct complex questions to Outreach and teaching staff.
Please note that as a tour guide you will be walking groups around the Manchester School of Art, Design, SODA, Manchester School of Architecture and Manchester Fashion Institute. Whilst tour guides will not be required to have knowledge of the work on display, you will receive training/briefing to ensure you can guide students successfully and confidently around the degree shows.
Date: Tuesday 09 June, Wednesday 10 June, Friday 12 June, Thursday 18 June
Hours of Work: Various from 10:00am–12:00pm, 11:00am–1:00pm, 12:00pm–2:00pm, or 1:00pm-3:00pm
Details of briefing: 1 hour in-person health and safety briefing session date w/c 1 June.
