Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

Rise is looking to build a Rise Community Active Programme in term one of the 2026-27 academic year. We are looking for a Student Project coordinator to lead on the organisation, planning, and delivery of a programme which centres community at the heart of active experiences. We are rethinking what being active means, and looking at ways we can turn sport, active experiences, and physical or fitness activities into opportunities to build confidence, find your community, and feel creative. Rather than looking to 'win' or measure ourselves against the usual markers of success in sport, we are looking to surface fun, find the joy, make learning the goal, and experience the process together.

The programme has been partly designed already, and this role would require a highly organised, creative individual who would like to support the operational side of delivery, and work closely with a team of students, Rise staff and our University colleagues, to deliver a fun and engaging programme.

The role will be for 6 hour per week, with some weeks being busier than others. You will work both collaboratively and independently to action tasks, and keep on track of the whole programme as it develops.

Dates: 21 September - 18 December 2026
Hours of Work: Up to 6 hours per week, but variable

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements -

Rise loves to work with students who have skills, and who also want to LEARN! We are not asking you to be perfect, or to have done all these tasks or roles before, but we would like to know how you would approach the role:
  • An organised person who likes to see the details and help a group of excited humans get everything in line and ticked off
  • A great communicator, someone who can say what they think and feel about the topics and the planning
  • A team player, someone who can collaborate and share the load, while also get stuff done and follow instruction
  • A problem solver who wants to find a solution, and not spend all their time thinking about the problem
  • Someone who resonates with the project brief, maybe you're big into building community, want to explore and support confidence development, maybe you have played sport and understand the power of active experiences on your whole self (not just the score)
  • Someone who can share the project's aims, share our values, and engage audiences to come and get involved

How to Apply

Please apply via the Apply button, completing the form on the next page.
