Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

There is an opportunity for students studying Accounting & Finance or Banking & Finance to work as Induction Partners, supporting the department’s activities for the upcoming term.

Duties include:

  • Welcoming and supporting student groups as part of the induction process
  • Assisting Personal Tutors (PTs) with campus tours and recording key information to help new students
  • Escorting students around the Business School and directing them to timetabled sessions
  • Supporting PT sessions, including facilitating icebreakers and answering questions from new students
  • Accompanying student groups to and from the Sugden Sports Hall for team activities
  • Assisting Year Tutors during “Meet the Students” sessions and responding to student queries
  • Escorting student groups to social events held in the Business School

Dates:

Induction for Level 4 BSc Accounting & Finance and BSc Banking & Finance students

Day 1: Tuesday 29 September 2026

Day 2: Thursday 1 October 2026

Hours of Work: 9:00am – 4:30pm on both days (14 hours total for the week, with a 30-minute unpaid break each day)

Briefing Details:

If selected, you will be required to attend a short briefing session via MS Teams with the Year Tutors. This session will outline expectations for the induction. You will also receive a guide and a schedule of activities for the programme.

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who are studying BSc. Accounting & Finance and/or BSc. Banking & Finance.

Essential
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Confident interacting with a diverse range of students. 
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Confident leading or accompanying groups around campus.
  • Comfortable speaking in front of small groups and facilitating icebreaker activities. 
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to answer questions or signpost students to the appropriate support.
  • Commitment to providing excellent customer service and creating a positive student experience. 
  • Good knowledge of the campus, facilities, and student services. 
Desirable 
  • Previous customer service experience.
