Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
  
Calling all photography students.
 
Want to help capture the energy, creativity, and community spirit of the EFCD Summer Festival? We’re looking for one talented and enthusiastic student photographer to join us for one day (Thursday 6 August) to document the festival and create a suite of high‑quality images that showcase the event.
 
You’ll be responsible for photographing key moments throughout the day, including:
  • Festival activities and workshops
  • Performances and demonstrations
  • Attendees enjoying the event
  • Candid shots that capture the atmosphere
  • Any specific moments requested by the EFCD team
Your images will be used to promote future EFCD events, celebrate the work of our community, and highlight the festival across digital channels.
 
It’s essential that you’re passionate about photography and confident using your own camera equipment. You’ll receive a full briefing beforehand, but a creative eye, good timing, and the ability to work independently are a must.
 
Date: Thursday 6 August 2026
Hours of Work: 8:30am - 4pm
Briefing: a 30 minute paid briefing will be arranged with the successful student before the event

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements:
  • Studying Photography or a related creative discipline.
  • Confident using DSLR or mirrorless cameras.
  • Strong visual storytelling skills.
  • Comfortable directing or interacting with attendees when needed.
  • Responsible, reliable, and able to show initiative.
  • Able to work independently throughout the day.
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm for capturing live events.
  • Willing to complete a briefing before the festival day.
  • Must be able to provide their own camera equipment.
