Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

We're looking for enthusiastic and passionate students to join our team as Unibuddy Digital Ambassadors and help prospective students feel informed, supported, and excited about joining Manchester Met.

As a Unibuddy Digital Ambassador, you'll represent Manchester Met through our Unibuddy Chat platform and Unibuddy Community, sharing your experiences and insights to help applicants make informed decisions about their future. You'll play an important role in helping prospective students gain a genuine understanding of student life while building a sense of connection and belonging before they arrive on campus.

What you'll be doing
  • Responding to messages from prospective students through the Unibuddy platform in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.
  • Sharing authentic insights into your course, student life, accommodation, support services, and your overall experience at Manchester Met.
  • Creating and maintaining an engaging and informative Unibuddy profile.
  • Producing high-quality digital content, including videos, blogs, and social media-style content that showcases life at Manchester Met.
  • Supporting activity within the Unibuddy Community by:
    - Starting conversations and discussions.
    - Encouraging participation and engagement among offer holders.
    - Helping new students connect with each other before they begin their studies.
    - Contributing content that may be featured across Unibuddy and other University marketing and recruitment channels.
Full training will be provided, along with ongoing support throughout the duration of the role.

Dates: from 15 September 2026 to 27 August 2027
Hours: up to 2 hours per week

Person Specification

This role is open to Manchester Met students that will be enrolled on a course during the whole of 2026/27 academic year and meet the following criteria:  
  • It is essential you are comfortable creating digital content, particularly video content, and confident appearing on camera.
  • Creative and able to produce high-quality content with attention to detail.
  • Strong communicators who can adapt their style for different audiences.
  • Passionate about helping prospective students make informed decisions about higher education.
  • Reliable, professional, and committed to representing Manchester Met positively and authentically.
  • Friendly and approachable, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse range of people.
  • Proactive, confident, and enthusiastic about engaging with others online.
Furthermore, you must demonstrate in your application the following requirements:
  • You have knowledge and understanding of the lived experience of UK home students.
  • You have an interest in content creation and enjoy producing videos, blogs, social media content, or similar digital media.
  • You are confident interacting with prospective students, offer holders, and parents/guardians in an online environment.
  • You are comfortable responding to questions, sharing your experiences, and encouraging engagement online.
