The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
We are seeking to recruit 8 Placement & Internships Ambassadors to support current Level 4 & 5 students within the School of Computing & Mathematics by enthusiastically promoting the benefits of a placement year & internships, through a range of activities and events, and providing appropriate guidance and advice. Applicants are invited from returning Final Year Manchester Met students, from the School of Computing & Mathematics, who have successfully completed a placement year themselves. Ideally, each Placement Ambassador will be working within their own programme area, but there will also be a requirement to work flexibly, and as team where appropriate.
This is a great opportunity for students to further build their CV, put their placement experience to good use, and have a positive impact on their peers. You will be expected to lead discussions, share your ideas and experiences, and signpost students to relevant support.
Tasks to include:
- Running targeted promotion of placement (Sandwich & RISE Internships) events and services (e.g. lecture shout-outs & promotion drives) for Level 4 and Level 5 students;
- Providing information and guidance at events, on promotional stands and through peer-to-peer activities e.g. placement club lab sessions;
- Collaborating with staff from across the University and specifically, the Computing & Mathematics dept Employability Lead and Placements Team in CES;
- Attending training and debriefs where you will receive support, resources, and feedback;
- Signposting students to specialist and further support as needed, and mentoring students that are assigned to you;
Develop promotional materials (such as articles, blogs, videos or media articles) by collecting testimonial and feedback from students and placement employers;
- Work on additional activities and events if & when required.

Details of briefing/training: You will be required to attend an initial briefing & training session, to be held during week commencing 21 September, prior to input to the Induction Week during w/c 28 September 2026.
