Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

The Manchester School of Architecture is looking to appoint a social media assistant to collaborate with the team on the development of the school's public image through its website, Instagram and LinkedIn accounts. 
 
The successful student will:
  • Assist the team in writing and editing posts and visual materials.
  • Create engaging multimedia content across the multiple platforms.
  • Assist in identifying events and topics.
  • Carry out an analysis of other accounts.
Dates of Work 
This role will be 6 hours a week (to be worked on a flexible basis around university commitments) across 30 weeks as follows:
Autumn block: 10 weeks from week commencing 28 September to 4 December 2026
Spring block: 10 weeks from week commencing 1 February 2027 to 9 April 2027
Summer block: 10 weeks from week commencing 19 April 2027 to 25 June 2027

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who will be studying on a Master of Architecture, Master of Landscape Architecture, MA Architecture and Urbanism and Architecture PhD course in the 2026/2027 academic year who:
  • Have a good understanding of various social media platforms and their role in recruitment and publicity and a thorough understanding of the subject area, the School and its courses.
  • Are able to work independently.
  • Are proactive, creative and propositional, meet deadlines and have a professional attitude when interacting with other staff members and students.
