Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
 
MSA Collective is looking for three enthusiastic students with a keen eye for graphic design, videography and a flair for events and social media engagement.
 
As an Event Assistant and Social Media Content Creator, you will assist the team with the management of the distinctive MSA Collective events. These may include the organisation of exhibitions at the MSA Gallery, and supporting main events, such as lectures, talks, and workshops. You will also be expected to manage and create content for our social media channels. This will include graphic, photographic and video content production (for MSA Collective main lecture series and beyond).

This role requires a motivated and creative candidate with a high level of visual literacy and passion for graphic design. We are looking for someone who is passionate about digital content creation and is familiar with the ecology of social media in architectural education/schools.  

Your duties may include:
  • Graphic design of social media posts, promotional material, short motion graphics and videos in line with the pre-set corporate image strategies of the school.
  • Posting produced content on our social media channels.
  • Graphic design of hard-copy posters, brochures, and handbooks.
  • Being present at the events for the photography and videography (+ basic editing) of the events.
  • Overseeing and collaborating on the printing, installing and distribution of posters and exhibition materials.
  • Overseeing the preparation of events and installing exhibitions.
  • Basic management of social media accounts.
  • Assisting in all pre-event preparation.
  • Assisting with the delivery of events.
  • Assisting with the branding of events.
This role will take place from October 2026 to 31 July 2027
 
Hours: up to 2-3 per week, if required based on the events schedules. There are weeks that you'll spend 2-3 hours and there are weeks that you don't submit any time sheet.
 
You work delivery will be based on the events schedules and you will only work on the weeks were we have an event.

Person Specification

This role is open to current Manchester Met students who meet the following requirements -
 
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign).
  • Familiarity with motion graphics and video production for short video/stop motions specifically produced for social media.
  • Basic familiarity with photography, video recording and video editing for the visual documentation of the events.
  • Familiarity with the visual branding strategies of MSA and MSA Collective cultural programme.
  • Experience and interest in preparation and organising events.
