Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
 

We are seeking 4 Level 4 Sociology and/or Criminology students to become Q-Step Peer Leaders. This role provides an opportunity to represent the views and experiences of your fellow students, acting as a key link between students and staff.

As a Q-Step Peer Leader, you will gather and share student feedback, contribute ideas to enhance the student experience, support engagement with activities and opportunities, and help shape initiatives that reflect student needs and interests. You will work collaboratively with staff and students to promote a positive, inclusive, and engaging environment.

Dates: 19 October 2026 - 29 January 2027 (excluding Winter break). 13 weeks
Hours of Work: 4 hours weekly
Details of briefing/training: Training & briefing will be provided.
Location: Mixture of on campus and online
 

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements - 
  • Level 4 Sociology and/or Criminology student 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be approachable and supportive
  • Reliable, organised and able to manage time effectively
  • Be committed to helping fellow students succeed
