We are seeking a skilled, proactive, and creative individual to assist with filming interviews for multimedia journalism students. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a student videographer to develop their technical expertise while contributing to a valuable research and educational project.
This research project will focus on capturing high-quality video interviews, ensuring professional standards in filming, lighting, and sound. The role will also contribute to the continuing development of MMU's multimedia journalism programmes.
Responsibilities:
- Film up to 15 on-camera interviews with multimedia journalism students, each lasting approximately 10-15 minutes.
- Use questions provided by the researcher to guide the interviews.
- Schedule and conduct interviews over two or three Wednesday afternoons during term time.
- Set up and operate DSLR video cameras, Bluetooth or lavalier microphones, and portable 3-point lighting kits.
- Capture 5-shot sequences and B-roll footage to support the interviews.
- Ensure compliance with journalistic standards by understanding how PA Media material is used in professional newsgathering contexts.
