Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

This is a research assistant role on a contract research project, working remotely (at the university), though meetings with the business this project relates to (see below) will take place.

The role is fully supervised by Professor Paul Smith and Dr Zenon Michaelides, but will involving working with a new market research business - Auto Intel - for whom we (the university) have a short term contract research project.

The project involves working with a large data set, performing analytics and statistics on the data, generating SQL scripts, and investigating opportunities to use AI to generate reports and accelerate processes.

The contract research project completes in July.

Dates: 28 April 2025 - 18 July 2025

Hours of Work: Flexible, maximum 5 hours per week

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements -

- Experience of business analytics and basic SQL skills.

- A basic understanding of statistics.

- A willingness to job share with one other student (this is a short term project opportunity with 70 hours to be shared between 2 students).

- Some programming capability.
