The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
We are looking for two or three students to provide feedback on how the university supports students during their transition to university life, including the Getting Ready to Learn programme. (Please note, you do not need to have prior knowledge of Getting Ready to Learn before attending this workshop, though prior knowledge would be beneficial to provide detailed input.)
This is a one-off opportunity that requires in-person attendance.
You will take part in discussions at an interactive workshop with senior staff members, including staff from the four faculties, staff from student communications, and representatives from the Library, Academic Services, Rise and the Careers Service. Our aim is to gather your knowledge, experience, and understanding so that we can continue improving the student experience. Your input to this workshop will be highly regarded and it is likely you will be participating in what will become a university-wide project.
As a Student Representative for this session, you will:
- Share your experiences of the university transition from college to university, and year to year, including any support you accessed, were aware of, or would have liked to access during this process. Including, but not limited to; the Getting Ready to Learn programme, student communications, online resources, and any in-person support. If you have experience with Getting Ready to Learn we'd particularly love to hear your thoughts on its timing, communications, and the live and online support available.
- Contribute to shaping future improvements to university transition support, identifying what is realistic for the upcoming academic year and what could be developed for future cohorts.
- Feel comfortable sharing your opinions in this setting, as your insights will be extremely valuable.
- No formal preparation will be required, but you may find it useful to reflect on your university transition experience in advance.
