Calling Arts & Humanities Subject Support Ambassadors. The faculty of MFI (Manchester Fashion Institute) and HLSS (Humanities, Languages, and Social Science) need you to work the upcoming Visit Day on Wednesday 9 April 2025. We have requirements for students from the following courses:
SATURDAY 26 APRIL 2025
HLSS:
We want some of the HLSS ambassadors to produce a short video during the day: "Why attend a [SUBJECT] Visit Day at Manchester Met". We'll need 1 student to make a video for each subject area:
- 1 Digital Media & Communications (10:30 - 12:45)
- 1 Multimedia Journalism (8:45 - 11:30)
- 1 History (11:45-14:00)
- 1 Politics (9:30-11:45)
- 1 Philosophy (9:30-11:45)
- 3 English (12:15-15:30)
- 3 Languages (9:30-11:45)
- 3 Criminology/Sociology (9:30-11:45)
Fashion Institute:
- 1 Fashion (BA)/Art Direction/Buying and Merchandising/Marketing (9:30-11:45)
- 1 Fashion Design and Technology (12:15 - 14:30)
- 2 Fashion Business and Management/Communication (12:15-14:15)
Art & Design:
- 3 students from any of our Art/Design courses (Craft, Graphic Design, Illustration with Animation, Interior Design, Product Design, Textiles in Practice, Art History and Curating, Fine Art, Fine Art & Art History, Foundation Diploma, Drama)
SODA:
- 2 Animation (9:00-14:30)
- 2 Filmmaking (12:00-14:30)
- 2 Future Media Production (12:00-14:30)
- 2 Games Art (9:00-14:30)
- 2 Games Design (9:00-14:30)
- 2 Music and Sound Design (12:00-14:30)

Duties:
- Represent your course and subject area during visit day
- Support academics during recruitment events such as answering questions prospective students and guests may have, assisting with presentations and facility demonstrations.
- Approaching visitors to offer assistance (e.g. providing directions) and answer questions.
- Act as a tour guide giving visitors an informative overview of the university campuses and telling them about student life.
- Supporting the marketing team with set up and break down of materials for events (e.g. putting up, collapsing or moving pull-up banners)
