Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

The Science and Engineering marketing team is currently seeking to recruit organised and enthusiastic students currently studying an undergraduate course within Science and Engineering to work as student ambassadors at an upcoming Applicant Visit Day on Saturday 26 April 2025.

Our Applicant Visit Days are an opportunity for students with an offer to study with us to have a second look around the campus and our facilities, take part in an interactive subject session, and meet future course mates.

We are looking to recruit students to represent the following course areas:

AI and Data Science
Biomedical Science
Computer Animation and Visual Effects
Computer Games Development
Computer Science
Cyber Security
Software Engineering
Sport Coaching and Development
Sport and Exercise Science

Duties:

- Represent your course and subject area at the Visit Day

- Support academics by answering questions from students and guests, assisting with presentations and interactive sessions.

- Assist visitors with directions, guidance and general queries.

Date: Saturday 26 April 2025

Hours of Work: 3 hour shift (Biomedical and Computing) or 6 hour shift (Sport). Specific shift times will vary and will be confirmed with you in advance of the event.

Person Specification

This role is only open to current undergraduate Manchester Met Students studying in the Faculty of Science and Engineering who meet the following requirements:

- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with prospective students.
- Responsibility and the ability to show initiative.
- Ability to work both as part of a team and independently.
- A positive perspective on higher education and Manchester Met University.
