Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

Are you keen on creating your own content? or sharing your experiences with other students? Then this could be the job for you! We require a number of students to be Digital Ambassadors, to represent the university on our Unibuddy platform

As a Digital Ambassador you will share your experiences of being a student at Manchester Met so that prospective students can get a better idea of what it is really like studying at the university.

The role will involve replying to messages sent from prospective applicants who wish to speak to current students via the online chat. You will have a profile on our website and you will be asked to contribute to student led content which will include both videos and blog posts relating to student life at Manchester Met, and your own experiences at the University. 

You will also be involved with our Unibuddy Community at different times of the year.

Unibuddy Community is an invitation only platform for offer holders joining the University and gives them an opportunity to make friends with other students also coming to the University in September. Digital Ambassadors will join groups on the Unibuddy Community platform, start conversations, engage with applicants, making students feel part of the University before they arrive. 

You should be a keen content creator, comfortable making video content for upload to our Unibuddy platform, happy to chat to, and advise students about university life. You will be required to have a profile on the Unibuddy platform and download the app to your phone.

As the platform will be operating over the summer and into the next academic year, you should be prepared to work during the summer break. 

If you are shortlisted, you will need to attend an online interview at a selected time which will take place week commencing 9 June. 

Dates: week commencing 16 June 2025 to 31 August 2026
Hours of Work: flexible, up to 4 hours per week

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Undergraduate Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements:
  • must be a 1st or 2nd year undergraduate student.
  • must be a keen content creator including videos, stills and blogs.
  • must be comfortable being in front of a camera. 
  • must be comfortable in talking to a range of audiences such as prospective students, offer holders, parents/guardians in an online environment. This will involve starting conversations, answering questions and engaging with students.  

Previous experience of creating video content is desirable.
Full training and ongoing support will be provided if you are successful.
