This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements -
We are looking for a motivated Manchester Met student who has knowledge of the principles of qualitative and quantitative research and some practical experience of applying this. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical, paid experience of analysing real-world data. Preference will be given to applicants who do not already have a placement or internship (paid or unpaid).
Essential criteria
• A current Level 5 or 6 student within the Department of Sociology
• Practical experience of Excel; the student must have access to the use of Excel and the MMU One Drive/Sharepoint.
• Familiarity with the thematic analysis of qualitative data
• Knowledge and practical experience of univariate analysis (descriptive statistics, frequency tables) and bivariate analysis (cross tabulations, examining relationships between an independent and a dependent variable).
• Understanding of data protection issues in research.
• Good interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Good organisation and time management
Desirable
• An interest in workplace inequalities with a focus on disability and gender; experience of writing for a non-academic audience.
