Job Description

Please note, this opportunity is only available to Manchester Met 2024 graduates who will be based in the UK for the duration of this role. You must have graduated from an undergraduate course from Manchester Met in June 2024 to apply. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept applications from current or previous postgraduate students.
  

Background

The main purpose of this role is to support the Estates & Facilities team with stakeholder communications and administrative coordination across several active infrastructure projects taking place on campus. The Estates team manages the physical development and maintenance of the University’s buildings and grounds, and this role will assist in ensuring that relevant stakeholders (e.g., staff, students, contractors) are informed of project milestones, disruptions, and key developments.

This internship will involve contributing to communications, attending project meetings, assisting in planning stakeholder events, and supporting with general administrative tasks within the team. The intern will work alongside project managers and admin officers, providing valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced professional environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the drafting and distribution of stakeholder updates and notices

  • Help organise and support stakeholder consultation meetings

  • Maintain and update spreadsheets and shared files for ongoing projects

  • Liaise with internal departments to gather key project updates

  • Attend meetings and take notes where appropriate

  • Provide administrative support to the Estates & Facilities team

Monday 11 August – Friday 31 October 2025
or
Monday 18 August – Friday 7 November 2025

Hours:
35 hours per week full-time, except for Bank Holiday Monday (25 August 2025)

Working Pattern:
Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:45am–4:30pm or 9:00am–4:45pm with an unpaid 45-minute lunch break

Person Specification

This role is only open to those who graduated from a Manchester Met undergraduate course in June 2024 and are not currently studying, nor have previously studied, on a postgraduate course.

Essential:

  • Strong organisational skills

  • Clear written communication

  • Confidence in speaking with a range of people

  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Outlook and Excel)

  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required

Desirable:

  • Previous experience working in a customer-facing or admin role

  • An interest in communications, project management, or estates services

  • Experience using MS Teams or shared cloud storage platforms (e.g., OneDrive, SharePoint)
