The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
The main purpose of this role is to provide research support to colleagues and support staff for a sports biomechanics project related to evaluating movement profiles linked to ACL injury risk using sensor-based technology. This project, led by Dr Thomas Dos'Santos, has been funded by the Innovate UK.
Support the development of new areas in the field of Sports Biomechanics
Dates: June 30th - October 31st
Hours: There
is budget allocated for 740 hours. There is no set working
pattern as this will be dictated by participant availability for
testing which will coincide with their availability. Testing will
last ~2 hours per participant and we aim to test >100 participants.
Location: Platt Lane Complex, MMU and
external sports teams.
Key Tasks
Research Activities
- Lead in data collection during laboratory / off-site visits. Testing will include anthropometric and wellness, vertical jump testing, running, cutting, turning using sensor-based wearable technology.
- Assist in data analysis of kinetic and kinematic data.
- Contribute to the production of research reports and publications.
Experience with the aforementioned techniques is desirable; however, training will be provided.
