Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students who will be based in the UK for the duration of the role to apply for; if your application is successful, we will arrange your Jobs4Students registration before you start work.
  
Man Met Sport are looking to recruit a team of Manchester based Hall Reps to start in September 2025. They will be required to implement new activities for the academic year 2025 -2026
 
As MMU Sport Hall Reps you will deliver our Active Halls programme. These are sessions that will be exclusively open to students living within MMU owned halls of residences. You will deliver any of the following sports: badminton, table tennis, netball and running.  This will be on campus in the Brooks Multi Functional Hall or setting off from Archway and running routes around the city centre.  There may be opportunities to implement new sports in line with student voice/demand.  The aim of the role is to increase students attending these sessions, along with building a community for the students.  
 
You will also be responsible for encouraging halls students to attend our free sport and fitness sessions by doing on campus promotion, stalls and trips to Sugden Sports Centre. 
 
MMU Sport are looking for 4 reps, working approx. 4 hours per week.
 
This role is ideally suited for students who are looking to pursue a career within the sport sector, may it be sports marketing, sports management or sports development.
 
Dates and Hours
September 2025 - December 2025, 4 hours a week on campus, Monday – Sunday for the autumn term with potential to increase to an ongoing role. 
 
Successful candidates will be invited to an online interview (MS Teams) on the 4th/5th September.

This role is only open to current Manchester Met students who are living in MMU owned Halls of Residences and who exhibit MMU Sport's core student workforce behaviours; that is they are/have:

In addition, applicants should be/be able to/have:
 
Essential
A Manchester Met Student that will be enrolled on a course during the 2025-2026 academic year
An enthusiastic approach and a ‘can do’ attitude
A love of sport and an attitude that will help convince people to play & compete
Live in MMU owned halls of residence
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
The ability to work in a team with some independent working
IT literate
Time management and flexibility to fit responsibilities around your study
A sound understanding of social media
 
Desirable
Emergency First Aid
Sports related qualification (e.g. coaching / officiating award)
