Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.

The Student Communications team (based in the Communications department) and the Future Students team (based in the Marketing department) are looking for students across Manchester Met to join our Student Content Creator scheme.

Whether you’re a budding influencer, an engaging writer, or a confident photographer, we’re keen to work with you. This is your chance to show off your creativity, share your experiences at Manchester Met and support both current and future students.

As a Student Content Creator, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Create videos, photos, and blogs for use across social media, email, and web.
  • Help shape campaigns including Welcome and Graduation.
  • Showcase your life at Manchester Met both in and out of your studies.
  • Attend events throughout the academic year to capture content.
  • Contribute new content ideas based off your own experiences.

If successful, you’ll form part of our Student Content Creator talent bank. You will receive tasks from the Student Communications and Future Students teams which you can apply for; this will include how the task should be completed and the number of hours you will be required to work. You can pick up tasks to fit around your studies, as well as commitments such as other work. There will also be opportunities to pitch your own content ideas to us.

Past examples of Student Content Creator work include:

If you have any questions, please email [email protected] and a member of the team will be able to assist.

Person Specification

The ideal Student Content Creator will have:

  • Strong communications skills.
  • Confident knowledge of social media, particularly Instagram and TikTok.
  • Demonstratable knowledge of creating and editing videos using a phone.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a group.
  • A willingness to learn and try new things.

You don’t need to be a well-rounded content creator to apply. You will have the opportunity to work with communications and marketing experts, where you can develop new skills and grow in confidence.

This role is available to students from all courses (excluding distance learners). We have created the role to fit around your studies, so you can take on tasks depending on how much time you have to offer.
