Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
 
The Future Processes cluster at the Manchester School of Architecture is seeking a motivated and creative Social Media and Graphic Assistant. The role will focus on developing and maintaining the cluster’s digital presence, creating engaging visual content, and documenting our events and activities. The ideal candidate will be familiar with MSA’s culture, ethos, and the Future Processes cluster’s focus on media, technology, and space.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the cluster’s social media channels (Instagram, blog) with weekly engaging posts.

  • Design and produce quick-turnaround posters, digital stories, and event announcements.

  • Document cluster events and activities through photography and occasionally video (for Instagram). 

  • Create graphic booklets and summary publications (1–2 times per year).

  • Collaborate with cluster staff and students to showcase projects, research, and activities.

  • Ensure all visual communication reflects the MSA identity and Future Processes ethos.

Date(s): From Oct 2025 - July 2026
Hours of Work: 2 hours per Week
  

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following criteria 
 
 
 Essential
  • Strong familiarity with Manchester School of Architecture, its culture, and the Future Processes cluster.

  • Proficiency in graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent).

  • Skills in photography and video production for social media.

  • Experience managing and curating content for social media platforms.

  • Ability to create quick, visually compelling posters, stories, and publications.

  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work to tight deadlines.

  • Creative eye for design, layout, and digital storytelling.

Desirable

  • Background in architecture, design, or a related creative discipline.

  • Understanding of media, technology, and spatial practices.

  • Experience in creating small publications or zines.

  • Confidence in working both independently and collaboratively with staff and students.
