Job Description

The current opportunity is available for current Manchester Met students, to apply you must be based in the UK for the duration of the role.
  

The Health and Education marketing team are currently seeking to recruit proactive, organised, professional, and enthusiastic students currently studying at Manchester Met to become Subject Support Ambassadors for Taster Days 

We are looking to recruit from the following courses: BSc (Hons) Psychology, BSc (Hons) Forensic Psychology, BSc (Hons) Educational Psychology and BSc (Hons) Psychology with Counselling and Psychotherapy. 

Successful applicants will assist in the delivery of the University’s core recruitment and widening participation strategies. Successful candidates will be required to provide information about their course including the benefits of higher education and address the key selling points of Manchester Met.   

The Taster Day is on Friday 7th November from 9:30am - 2:15pm

Duties:

Subject Support Ambassadors will primarily:  

    • Represent your course and subject area.
    •  Support academics during the day such as answering questionsassisting with presentations and facility demonstrations. 
    • Act as a tour guide giving visitors an informative overview of the university campuses and telling them about student life.   

Person Specification

This role is only open to current Manchester Met Students who meet the following requirements:
  • Ideally within these Faculty of Health and Education courses: BSc (Hons) Psychology, BSc (Hons) Forensic Psychology, BSc (Hons) Educational Psychology and BSc (Hons) Psychology with Counselling and Psychotherapy. 
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with staff, students and teachers  
  • Able to be a positive role model to young people  
  •  Responsible attitude and the ability to show initiative 
  •  Able to contribute and work effectively as part of a team or independently 
  •  A commitment to providing excellent customer service and a professional approach, at all times 
  •  A positive perspective on HE, educational experiences more broadly, and the University 
  •  Able to work flexibly to ensure smooth delivery of events 
  •  Willing to complete mandatory training before commencing work
