Carbon Literacy Programme Assistant
We are looking for a part-time Programme Assistant to support the administration of Manchester Met’s Carbon Literacy Training Programme.
Manchester Met has a strategic objective of embedding Carbon Literacy training into all degree programmes by academic year 2026-27, meaning that anyone who studies at Manchester Met will have the opportunity to become Carbon Literate, regardless of the course they take. This ambitious rollout is now in its fourth year, and the progressive upscaling of the programme means that increasing numbers of staff and students are undertaking the training and subsequently applying for Carbon Literacy certificates.
Key responsibilities of the CL Programme Assistant are:
- Processing and screening Carbon Literacy certificate applications
- Supporting the development and creation of Carbon Literacy promotional material, predominantly video-based
There may be scope for the successful applicant to support the CL team in other ways depending on interests, availability, and need.

- To build experience in the administration and coordination of a large-scale education programme with many moving parts
The Carbon Literacy Programme Assistant will work remotely with oversight from a member of the Carbon Literacy team. Training (paid) will be provided.
Dates: 24 Oct 2025 - 30 April 2026.
Working days/hours are flexible and will be negotiated the your line manager once hired. The successful applicant may work up to 14 hours per week, but 14 hours per week is not guaranteed.
